Fund-raising activities by our volunteers helping after the “Huge Earthquake in Sichuan province, China”

Academic exchange agreement signed with Xi'an Institute of Technology (China)  A huge earthquake occurred in Sichuan province, China on May 12, and unprecedented damage was spread over a large area of China. There is a desire for the area to recover as soon as possible.

 Fund-raising activities, designed by our foreign student volunteers, were conducted at the Kashiwara campus on Monday 19 through Friday 30 of May. Volunteers from the international exchange group (Japanese students), and staff from the foreign student center to help the area in China. They appealed to students for their help at the Sunken Garden (university hall) during lunch time and in the front of the escalator in the evening. They also placed a donation box to ask for help at the foreign student section, many donations were received and a final total of 423,941 yen was reached. The donation was given to the “Japan Red Cross ‘Donation for Earthquake in China’ Account” by a volunteer representative on May 30.

Academic exchange agreement signed with Xi'an Institute of Technology (China) The volunteers wish that the “Warm support from the people who helped, may reach the hearts of the people in China and pray that this will help in their recovery.”
